Celebrated organist performing in Forest City Nov. 24

FOREST CITY – Waldorf’s Community Artist Series welcomes organist Michael Stefanek to Forest City on Sunday, Nov. 24 for a 7:30 p.m. concert at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

A member of the American Guild of Organists and the College Music Society, Stefanek is an award-winning performer with Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees in organ performance from the University of Michigan. Currently, he is the Associate Minister of Music and Organist at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Des Moines.

Known for his diverse selection of repertoire, Stefanek has performed throughout the Midwest, with concerts at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul in Detroit, Mich.; St. Norbert Abbey in De Pere, Wis.; Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Mich.; and Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland, Ohio, among others.

The performance is part of the Waldorf Community Artist Series, which has brought celebrated singers, musicians, and other performers from across the nation and world to Forest City for 26 years.

Tickets to the concert are $10 for adults and $5 for students and can be purchased at the Forest City Chamber of Commerce, by calling the Waldorf College Information Center at 800-292-1903, or at the door the evening of the performance.
