MASON CITY – A newly-opened North End eatery is becoming a favorite of its patrons.

Cook’s Cafe, located at 1327 N. Federal Ave., re-opened for business on June 7th of this year after being closed for some time. It had originally opened in 1997.

The restaurant is owned and operated by by Anthony “Tony” and Anita Cook. The Cooks offer a full breakfast and lunch menu of standard American fare.

Tony Cook is passionate about cooking and creating flavorful dishes for the locals to enjoy. He has been cooking since he was about 13 years of age. When asked which one of his tasty creations he enjoyed the most, he stated it would be hard to choose because he loves them all, but his wife Anita said her personal favorite is Tony’s delicious chicken wrap.

One customer listed the Cowboy burger as his favorite and another said the chicken dinners are amazing and the prices are extremely affordable with breakfast prices starting at $2.49 and lunch prices starting at $3.59. Specials are regularly offered and are posted on the Cook’s Cafe Facebook page.

Morning has been the busiest for Cook’s Café, Mr. and Mrs. Cook said last week. They are looking forward to the approaching hunting season when many local hunters will stop in for a good meal.

Tony Cook said that he loves the North End location and is “very lucky” to have a large amount of parking to offer.  Right now, just Tony and Anita do all the cooking, but they are prepared to add new staff soon.

Soon, the café will be available after normal business hours (5 AM till 2 PM, seven days a week; lunch is served at 11 AM) for private events and meetings to those wishing to inquire.
