logo_iowa_hawkeyesIOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa NCAA wrestling champion Pete Bush is one of five inductees heading into the Glen Brand Hall of Fame on June 7, 2014. The 2014 class was announced today by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum.

Bush won the 190-pound NCAA title to help Iowa win its fifth straight team championship in 1982. He also won three 190-pound Big Ten championships in 1981-82, and 1984.

Bush is currently the head wrestling coach at Davenport Assumption, where he led the team to a traditional state title in 2011, and three consecutive state dual titles from 2011-13. Bush was an Iowa high school state wrestling champion at Davenport Assumption in 1979.

The Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa was established in 2002 to honor those who have made an impact on the sport on a national level, or who have done extraordinary work in the State of Iowa. The hall recognizes native-born Iowans, and those who achieved their fame while wrestling or coaching for an Iowa school.

The class of 2014 includes Bush, two-time UNI All-American Joel Greenlee, four-time Iowa State All-American Al Nacin, four-time Iowa high school state champion Mack Reiter, and former New Hampton and West Waterloo high school coach Finn Ericksen.
