Hawkeyes return to ESPN’s “Super Tuesday”

logo_iowa_hawkeyesIOWA CITYThe University of Iowa men’s basketball team makes its return to ESPN’s “Super Tuesday” lineup this upcoming season.  The basketball doubleheader features conference games from the Big Ten and SEC.

Iowa will play three times on Super Tuesday, twice at home and once on the road.  The three appearances equal Ohio State and Michigan State for the second most of any Big Ten team behind Indiana’s four.

The Hawkeyes will make their first appearance Jan. 28 when they entertain Michigan State (6 p.m., CT).  Iowa will then host Ohio State a week later on Feb. 4 (6 p.m., CT).  Iowa’s only regular season contest against Indiana will take place Feb. 18 in Bloomington, Ind. (8 p.m., CT).

“Having the opportunity to play three Big Ten games spotlighted on national television is tremendous for our fans and program,” said Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery.  “Not only that, but the country will continue to see what a phenomenal environment Carver-Hawkeye Arena is in having two of those games at home.”

Last week, it was announced Iowa’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge home game versus Notre Dame on Dec. 3 will tipoff at 8:15 p.m. (CT) and will air on ESPN2, while its in-state game at Iowa State on Dec. 13 will air on ESPNU at 8:30 p.m. (CT).

The remainder of Iowa’s schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
