“If you had home damage document everything and keep good records,” Byrnes suggested recently. “Keep photos, receipts, etc.”
Byrnes said federal officials are on the way to the region soon.
“FEMA will be coming to Mitchell County soon and setting up meetings and assessing damage,” Byrnes informed. “Things are progressing and we will try to keep you up-to-date as we move forward.”
Mitchell, Floyd and other regional counties have suffered severe flooding and heavy rains this spring season.
Byrnes also had advice for farmers.
