Ex-NFL player Titus Young arrested twice in 15 hours

RIVERSIDE, Calif., May 8 (UPI) — Titus Young, a wide receiver dropped by two National League Football teams this year, was arrested twice in 15 hours, sheriff’s officials in California say.

Troubles for the 23-year-old Los Angeles athlete began when deputies in Riverside County arrested him just after midnight Sunday, The (Riverside) Press-Enterprise reported Wednesday.

Deputies said the driver of a black Ford Mustang made an illegal left turn into oncoming traffic in front of a deputy’s patrol car.

Young was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and his vehicle was towed, Sgt. Lisa McConnell said. He was released after signing a ticket saying he would appear in court.

Young was arrested again about 2:20 p.m. after deputies alleged he jumped a fence at a tow company’s storage yard as he attempted to retrieve the Mustang.

He was charged with burglary and released on $5,000 bail.

Young was released early this year by the Detroit Lions. The St. Louis Rams then claimed him off waivers, but released him 10 days later.
