Nine Amish injured in buggy, car crash

PIGEON, Wis., May 5 (UPI) — A collision between a car and a buggy in Wisconsin sent the nine Amish buggy occupants to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.

Brady A. Engen was driving his car Friday night in the township of Pigeon when he hit the buggy, WXOW-TV, LaCrosse, Wis., said.

The sheriff’s department said Engen was not paying attention and failed to yield the right of way to the buggy.

Engen did not sustain any injuries in the accident, and the case will be forwarded to the county district attorney’s office for review, police said.
