BIRMINGHAM, Ala., March 22 (UPI) — Skeletal remains found on an Alabama golf course three months ago still haven’t been identified, Birmingham police say.
The bones were found Dec. 23, scattered at the farthest end of the Oxmoor Valley golf course, and appeared to have been burned, al.com reported Friday.
They were discovered near the course’s wood line by people riding all-terrain vehicles.
Homicide Detective Philip Harris said evidence of blunt force trauma indicated the person, a male of undetermined race and age, had been killed.
Police don’t know when death occurred, but the ATV riders said they are in the area often and the remains weren’t there the month before they found them.
The victim had a plate in his left hip and may have been missing some teeth.
