Self-proclaimed Mason City gang member gets probation for felony drug delivery

MASON CITY – Mason City police arrested 28-year-old Tyrone Anthony Evans on an outstanding warrant shortly before 9:30pm June 12th at his address listed in the incident report as 1620 South New Hampshire in Mason City.

Evans was originally charged with one Class D felony count of Delivery of Marijuana and one Class D felony count of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp. The online court records show the charges stem from a local drug enforcement investigation in which Evans allegedly delivered marijuana to an unnamed individual on January 5th, 2012.

As part of a plea bargain agreement between Evans’ public defender and the prosecution Evans entered a voluntary negotiated plea of guilty, on October 8th, to the Class D felony count of Delivery of Marijuana. In exchange the Class D felony count of Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp would not be prosecuted.

At the sentencing hearing on Monday, November 19th, presiding District Court Judge Colleen D. Weiland sentenced Evans to a 5 year suspended prison sentence. Instead of incarceration Evans will have the chance to serve 3 years of probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections. Judge Weiland went on to impose but then suspend a $750 minimum fine in the case. Evans is required to pay $546.00 between the public defender, court costs, and surcharges.

According to Tyrone’s Facebook page he claims association with the Piru Blood gang and was originally a native of Cincinnati, Ohio before relocating to Iowa. His most recent comments on Facebook end with a gang shout out, “just let me know im f**kin up but ill always hold my family tell i die on BLOOD PIRU 4 LIFE ALDAY EVERY DAY”.

The conversation ends with, “jrward come out i just dont give a2 f**k lol not jail.”

“Twinkie withdrawl”, memy? Nope. More like withdrawl from MaryJane, crack, MD 20/20, and Colt .45 Malt Liquor!

Civil Susie is right you get them scum leave by scarring heck out of them. If that dont work then take the next step make it unhealthy for them yes.We got to show them scum there not the boss we are.

Wonder if he’ll go through “Twinkie” withdrawal……

DAMN SOUTH END.

The only gang I would figure him to be a part of is the “junk yard gang” that used to be on Saturday mornings back in the day. HEY HEY HEY I’m just saying.

Another one of those fine imports from somewhere else.

Al Capone was a gang member! This fat ass is not a gang member!

Wake up, people, it is time to run these people out of North Iowa! I say we get a commitee together of concern citizens and make them leave. Time we do something before it is too late.

How are you going to “make people leave”?

The only gang I would figure him to be a part of is the “junk yard gang” that used to be on Saturday mornings back in the day. HEY HEY HEY I’m just saying.

He plays for the North Iowa Bucks and has no accocaition with the Bulls. Someteams have the waterboy who supplies the water. The Bucks have the guy who supplies the….well you can read the article.

@northofstate obviously you do not know Tyrone or you would know that he DOES have a job and has for the past 5 years. And the snitch in this case was “playboy the beast” working for the cops. Not saying all his decisions were right at all but he has is not a dead beat living off the system he works to take care of his kids.

He owes over $3,000 in fines. When you don’t pay what you owe, you are a dead beat. Call me old fashioned for remembering a time when being a man meant staying out of jail/courts, paying what you owe, AND supporting your family.

He must have heard about all those high paying jobs, new library, FLW hotel, and all the other culture MC has to offer a real family man with kids who’s looking to raise his family and have a bright successful future. A “change with hope” so to speak. News travels fast and far. All the way to Ohio.
Or…he could have heard about the Section8 Program from his co-whorets……

I’m pretty positive this was a lone persons act and had nothing to do with the North Iowa Bulls but way to be ignorant about it

Most teams kick people off the team for drug offenses, especially felonies. I see you have kept him on the team roster. Does he serve as a role model to kids that look up to you guys. Do the right thing and send this Blood Piru for life guy packing.

He’s one fat hockey player if he plays for the Bulls.

He pleads guilty and still gets a suspended sentence, I just don’t get it.

Oh, but it was ONLY for marijuana. That NEVER hurts anyone. Duh.

It will be legal in Colorado soon but not here. Still against the law here in Iowa and thank god it is….

Pot is actually less harmful than alchohol. It’s non physicaly addictive. Being illegal is what brings out the criminal eliment. Just as prohabition did.

Typical North Iowa Bulls player.

Easy to CLAIM your a banger on Facebook you can be anyone you want! ( wannabe) this guy is a punk deadbeat. Look at the page all the siblings with different last names go figure. This guy has no job lives off the system comes to mason city to leech of others sell drugs committ crimes. Look at him, Boy Living Off Others Deadbeat. BLOOD for sure!!

If he’s on Section8 he’ll be gone when his yr. contract is up and he takes his rental assistance back where he came from.
