Goldstein And Jobe Earn Big 12 Weekly Awards

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State soccer team had two players earn Big 12 Conference Player-of-the-Week honors, the league announced Tuesday. Junior midfielder Emily Goldstein was tabbed offensive player of the week and junior goalkeeper Maddie Jobe was named defensive player of the week.

Goldstein earned the honor after scoring two goals and providing an assist in the Cyclones’ two wins to start the campaign. The Orange County, Calif., native scored a sudden-victory overtime goal at Creighton Sunday, giving Iowa State a 1-0 win. Goldstein’s five points over the weekend puts her atop the league list after the first weekend.

Jobe was tabbed defensive player of the week after not allowing a goal in 155 minutes of action. Jobe made six saves and earned two wins last weekend. Dating back to 2011, Jobe has not conceded a goal in over 251 minutes of play.

Jobe earned the honor for the fourth time in her career at Iowa State, while Goldstein won the award for the second time.
