NIACC T&F places six at Kansas Relays, Buenneke places sixth in 10000

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The NIACC track team had six finishers during second day of the Kansas Relays at the University of Kansas on Thursday, including one top-10 finish.

Anna Buenneke (So., Hazleton, IA) placed in the top-10 with a sixth-place finish in the women’s 10000-meter run in a time of 39:06.78.  She finished the race 45 seconds behind Cecilia Burley of Friends University (KS).  There were 39 runners in that race.

Jonny Worley (Fr., Greene, IA) was NIACC’s next best finisher with a 15th in the men’s steeplechase in a time of 10:28.97.

Marquez Hobson (So., Minneapolis, MN) placed 54th overall in the men’s 1500, but placed second in his heat with a 4:15.18 run.

In the 800-meters, Darcy Nelson (So., Lake Mills, IA) ran a 2:22.97 in the women’s race to place 39th overall.  She finished second in her heat.

NIACC also had a pair of men’s runners in the 800-meters.  OJ Ojullu (Fr., Worthington, MN) ran a 1:59.58 to placed 62nd overall in the 800, and Andrew Corcoran (So., Sumner, IA) finished 73rd by running it in 2:01.31.

The Kansas Relays continue tomorrow with at least nine Trojans competing in at least five events.
