From the Waterloo Police Department:
On March 25, 2012, at approximately 9:15 PM, Waterloo Police responded to US Highway 20 eastbound near the Highway 63 exit on report of a semi hitting a pedestrian.
Officers found the pedestrian lying in the median. According to the semi driver, Valoree Adeill Blake, age 49, of Vermillion, South Dakota. The pedestrian walked out into the path of the semi. Blake swerved to avoid the pedestrian, but struck him. The pedestrian, Kyle Pudenz, age 19, of Carroll, Iowa, was transported to Covenant Medical Center. He died of massive head and chest injuries.
Pudenz’s vehicle was located in the parking lot of Silver Eagle Harley-Davidson, 4022 Sergeant Road. The accident remains under investigation.
