Patrick Bentley has been arraigned in the death of two people who were found inside a home near Scottville, Michigan.
Patrick Michael-Thomas Bentley, 21, was arraigned Thursday morning for the crimes.
Bentley was arrested in Ohio County, Kentucky and was extradited back to Michigan. He returned to Mason county this morning.
A preliminary examination is scheduled for Wednesday, February 22 at 11:15 a.m. at the Mason County Courthouse.
Bentley is being held at the Mason County Jail without bond. He’s charged with 5 felonies, including, open murder (2 charges one for each victim), felony firearm, preparation to burn $20,000 or more, unlawful driving away of an automobile.
Together all charges could bring him a life sentence if he’s found guilty.
In January, deputies responded to a well-being check around 9:30 p.m. at a house located at 3046 North Amber Road in Victory Township. When detectives arrived, they found two bodies inside. The victims were later identified as 28-year-old Fernando Ramirez and 18-year-old Lacey Bentley. Police say they both lived at the home.
Police arrested two suspects on unrelated charges in Ohio County, Kentucky in connection with the case. The suspects, a 19-year-old woman, Lashawn Whipple, and a 21-year-old man, identified as Patrick Bentley, are both from the Mason County area.
Whipple is facing charges in Kentucky of fleeing police, recieving stolen property under $10,000, criminal mischief and abandonment of a minor.
