MASON CITY – A Mason City man was arrested after fleeing from officers early Tuesday morning.

At 3:20 a.m., a citizen called police to report a suspicious vehicle in the 400 block of 12th Street NE.  The caller reported that the vehicle was stopped in the road and then was driving at a very slow rate of speed.

An officer located the vehicle at Elm Drive and North Penn and attempted to stop the car.  The driver refused to stop and led officers on a five minute, low speed vehicle pursuit that meandered through the neighborhood north of West Park.

The driver eventually pulled into his driveway in the 900 block of North Harrison and attempted to run to his house.  He was stopped by officers before getting inside his house and was arrested.

The driver, Andrew James Meyer, 24, was charged with operating while intoxicated (2nd offense) aggravated eluding, interferance with official acts and no driver’s license.  Meyer was held at the Cerro Gordo County Jail on $2000 bond.
