Around 1 p.m. opn Wednesday, September 14th Mason City Police were dispatched to ShopKo on a report of a man concealing items in a backpack while in the store.
The man ran from the store and after a brief foot chase was apprehended by Mason City Police Officers.
Gregory Farhat, age 27, of (CORRECTION) Mason City, was charged with theft in the 3rd degree ($500 to $1000) an aggravated misdemeanor, and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
He has since been released from custody pending further court proceedings.
