Update from city officials:
General Notes:
Please observe the yellow construction tape. There have been several instances of pedestrians and bicyclists going under the caution tape and entering wet concrete areas….the white curing compound might make the pavement look like it is dry, but it isn’t!!!
Alliant Energy will continue working in Enterprise Alley for another week and a half. Qwest and Mediacom will also be working in and around the construction zone at various times. All work start dates remain ‘weather permitting’. Think sunshine and moderate
temps!
Week beginning Monday, June 20:
McKiness
Digging for light pole bases on the NE and NW corners of Federal Avenue at 4th Street will be completed. The intersection will remain open to traffic. Removals and grading will be completed on State Street from Federal Avenue
west to Enterprise Alley.
Wicks
Main line street paving (the 24’ wide center) on Federal Avenue will begin from 4th to 3rd Streets, then 3rd to 2nd Street, followed by State Street west of Federal to the alley. During this work, the 3rd Street intersection will be closed and the 2nd Street intersection will remain open. Possibly, the sidewalks at the bump out areas on the NE and NW corners of State and Federal will be completed.
Country Landscape
Installation of pavers should be complete in the Plaza and pavers installed in the
cross walks at State Street.
Stay alert and stay safe in the work zone!
Please avoid wet concrete areas!
Watch for tripping hazards!
