MASON CITY – A Mason City woman battled cops as they tried to arrest her for shoplifting.
Around 5:30 PM Saturday evening, Mason City Police were dispatched to HyVee Drug on 4th Street SW for an uncooperative shoplifter. Three police cars responded.
An alleged shoplifter was fighting arrest and had to be tackled. The officer was able to get the female shoplifter, identified as Teresa Ann Bergan, under control. She was arrested and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail on charges of interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree theft.
