A graduation ceremony was held Wednesday June 1 to celebrate 74 students completing their GED through North Iowa Area Community College. The ceremony was held at 7:00 p.m. in the North Iowa Community Auditorium with a reception that followed.
GED graduates must successfully complete the GED battery of tests to obtain their high school equivalency diploma from the Iowa Department of Public Instruction. Over the past 20 years, nearly 2,600 individuals have passed the GED tests through North Iowa Area Community College.
This year, 19 graduates received $250 scholarships from the NIACC Foundation. Two graduates will receive full tuition scholarships for the 2011-12 academic year.
