Helps Drain Cleaning offers commercial and residential services in the Mason City, Clear Lake and surrounding areas. They also offer emergency service.
“We purchased the business in March of 2006 as Kev’s Drain Cleaning. We consider it a family owned business with the plan of having our two son’s Drake and Nick help Rod out when they are a bit older,” said Shelby Helps.
After owning the business for 5 years, the Helps’ decided to change the name to Helps Drain Cleaning.
Rod does the labor part and Shelby does the bookkeeping, billing, etc. The Helps’ daughters also help out. “We have even had our oldest daughter Britney, who is 19, help Rod out and Danielle, age 16, has helped me with addressing some envelopes and office type work.”
The Helps’ thought they were established enough and wanted to put the business in their name, which, they did in January of 2011.
“We sponsor our son in gokart racing and Rod just told me that we are going to sponsor National Night Out in August, the tractor pulls for the kids,” Shelby Helps said.|
