On March 5th, 2011, at about 1:38 PM, Mason City Police answered a call of a domestic call in the 900 block of 7th SE. Before officers arrived it was determines that a male subject had fled on foot.
The officers recognized the male subject, Mike Mikkelson, as a subject wanted in numerous burglaries in neighboring counties. Mikkelson was spotted by an officer walking down the railroad tracks several blocks away and after a brief foot chase he was caught in the alley in the 500 block of 12th SE.
Mikkelson was arrested on warrants from the following counties:
Kossuth County for Burglary 3rd – bond $9750.00
Floyd County for Burglary 3rd – bond $5000.00
Howard County for Burglary 3rd – bond $5000.00
Mikkelson was transported to the Cerro Gordo County Jail awaiting extradition to the other counties.
