As of early January of 2011, the Mason City Police Department has issued over 600 alternate side parking violations. That number is down from past years.
The police department is seeing better compliance than in years past, according to a City Council newsletter.
The alternate side parking ordinance remains enforced as of January 15. According to the newsletter, it will be several days before the City can even consider the suspension of the ordinance “based on the storm clean up needs and the narrowing streets that prevent emergency vehicles from accessing all neighborhoods.”|
