FLOYD, IOWA – Love’s Travel Stop opened for business this morning in Floyd, Iowa, at U.S. Highway 18/218 and Monroe Street. The travel stop adds approximately 50 jobs to Floyd County.
“With its location along two of Iowa’s busier highways and its position between Mason City and Waterloo, Floyd is an ideal spot for a travel stop,” said Tom Love, founder and executive chairman of Love’s. “We’ll be able to serve members of the Floyd community as well as professional drivers and leisure travelers with the ‘Clean Places, Friendly Faces’ Love’s is known for.”
The new store is open 24/7 and offers gourmet coffee, fresh fruit, gift items, Subway and Godfather’s Pizza Express restaurants and more. Professional drivers can enjoy 80 truck-parking spaces and five showers. Floyd is Love’s sixth location in Iowa.
Love’s is celebrating the opening by donating $1,000 to the Charles City Civic Foundation’s Holiday Cheer fundraiser. The program raises money to provide Christmas gifts for local families in need. Love’s will also give a $1,000 donation to Toys for Tots in Floyd County. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys each year to distribute as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Both programs provide service to Floyd residents. The donations will be presented at a ribbon cutting Friday, Dec. 9 at 1:30 p.m.
