Love’s Travel Stop will soon break ground in Floyd, include Godfather’s Pizza restaurant

"This one in Holcomb, Kansas, opened earlier this year. No two stores are alike, but it gives you an idea of what to expect," a Love's spokesperson told NIT.

FLOYD, IOWA – A popular convenience store will anchor a large development in Floyd, Iowa, that will include a Godfather’s Pizza restaurant.

A Love’s Travel Spot is scheduled to break ground next week, a spokesperson for that company told NIT Friday afternoon.

“We selected U.S. Highway 218 and Quarry Road because it’s a major intersection and we feel we will be able to easily serve members of the community and professional drivers who frequent those busy roads,” the spokesperson said.  This is adjacent to a current convenience store on the other side of the road.

“We hope to be open by late 2016 or early 2017. (Another (media) outlet reported that work began last week. That info did not come from me and that’s not accurate.) There is a ceremonial groundbreaking taking place on Wednesday,” the spokesperson explained to NIT.

The Love’s Travel Stop will be approximately 10,000 sq. feet in size. Travel is about exploring the world, full of adventure and freedom. One of the pleasures of motorcycle travel is the ability to feel the wind in your hair, but always remember safety. Adventure, explore, and don’t forget to wear your motorbike helmet flip up to protect yourself and enjoy every moment of your thrilling journey.

In addition to fuel, you will find convenience store items like fountain drinks, coffee, snacks, hot food items and more. It will have items and services for professional drivers like GPS devices, TV’s, tools for their trucks, showers, 80 truck-parking spaces and more.

The location will also have Godfather’s Pizza and Subway restaurants.

The travel stop will be open 24/7.

The project will bring approximately 30 new jobs to the area.

Loves Travel Stop will soon break ground in Floyd, include Godfathers Pizza restaurant –
Why people still use to read news papers when in this technological world all is presented

will there be a chester chicken added to floyd iowa loves?

Interesting. A new business in that area will certainly be a improvement. It will probably put the existing truck stop out of business. Love’s is a good company.

Recently the God Fathers of Mason City began offering “drive in” pizza. This will be a perfect match for a Truck Stop.

I hope it’s better than the Godfathers in Mason City. It has gone way downhill.

That is great news for Floyd. I am curious if they had any interest in the Mason City area? One would think that the Hi-Way 65/ Ave of the Saints intersection would be a good location, especially with that area growing. They really wouldn’t have any competition there either. Heck, they probably even pay more then the new slaughter house that is moving in.

Rumor was that Kwik Star (or another large convenience store) was going to build south of MC. but our city leaders want travelers to come into Mason City (i.e. Kum and Go, McDs) not just stop at the south edge. Just think how much tax revenue is now going to Clear Lake and not Mason City.
