IOWA CITY – A Muslim student group at the University of Iowa is celebrating after the school set aside rooms specifically for Muslims to pray in.

The University of Iowa Muslim Student Association announced today that an inauguration for its new prayer space will be held.

“Don’t forget to stop by at 5 pm today for the prayer space inauguration!” the group said via social media.  The event will be held in the IMU Theatre.

The University of Iowa Muslim Student Association’s purpose and objectives is to “strive to serve and please Allah in the best way possible through the Guidance of the Qur’an”, part of which means praying often. Accommodations had previously been made in the Iowa Student Union in various rooms.

Some Muslim students at Iowa claimed there was no safe place to pray on campus, leading to officials setting aside these two rooms to accommodate them.

Former university offices have been altered to become Muslim prayer rooms.  There was no announcement as to where these rooms are, specifically, on campus; that announcement may come at tonight’s inauguration.  There will be a room for men and a room for women.  Muslims are required to pray up to five times per day.

And the racist hypocrites go silent once they all realize there is a chapel for Christian worship on campus. Frankly I think both religions are garbage. But I do love basking in your silence

I say lets Trump the U of I. Take away all their state and federal funding and build a wall around the campus to keep them towel heads out.

What do you expect from these crooked anti Americans ?

This is absolute B.S. Do they give Christians a room to pray in. Our tax money should not go to any religion. Take the rooms back or give us back our tax money.

I’m assuming you have a problem with this: http://imu.uiowa.edu/event-services/spaces/danforth-chapel/

And LOLVS goes hypocritically silent. Where is your outrage over this entire building that the state provided for Christian worship?

No problem here. It is not state funded. They charge $300 for the general public to use it. That is a lot different than free and, it is non-denominational. It says nothing about being any religion but says it is for reflection. Once again you have proven how stupid and how much of a racist you really are.

They charge the general public to use Danforth for an event, such as a wedding. They don’t charge for students to go in and pray or meditate. And Danforth is set up as a Christian chapel–it may be non-denominational but it certainly isn’t non-sectarian. And the fixed pews don’t do well for sitting on the floor.

Then let them learn to sit on the pews. It is about time they joined the civilized world if they want to live here. I am not in favor of any tax money going for any religious purpose. It is impossible for them to be fair about it and a lot of people are not believers any more.
