MASON CITY – A man received minor injuries after an argument with his girlfriend turned violent.
A source close to a Mason City man who was injured during a domestic assault incident Wednesday night said he had been “stabbed by his girlfriend”.
According to Mason City police, late Wednesday night at 11:28 PM, a physical altercation was reported in the 100 block of 5th Street NW. Officers arrived and spoke to the victim who reported being cut with a knife during the argument. However, police said the injury cut appeared to be superficial. Fire medics were summoned to assess the victim but did not transport.
The alleged suspect, 32-year-old Jennifer Lynn Frangis, was located a short distance away. Frangis was arrested for Serious Domestic Assault and taken to jail.
Frangis pled guilty to a theft charge in Mason City earlier this year and was ordered to pay $400 in fines and court fees, but records show she has not yet made a payment on that balance.
