logo_iowa_state_cyclonesAMES, Iowa –  The Iowa State women’s basketball team (6-2, 0-0 Big 12) placed four student-athletes in double figures as the Cyclones topped the Arkansas Pine-Bluff Golden Lions (2-6, 0-0 SWAC) 82-56 in Hilton Coliseum.

After starting 1-of-12 from the field, the Cyclones got things moving after junior guard Kidd Blaskowsky sparked the Iowa State offense with three, 3-point baskets and a pair of free throw makes to lead all scorers with 11 points at the break. Iowa State would slowly convert a six-point deficit into an eight-point halftime lead, 35-27.

Iowa State would only extend its lead going into the second half, putting the early shooting woes behind them as they shot 40.7 percent from the field to close the game. Iowa State would down the Golden Lions by a score of 82-56.

The Cyclones finished the contest with a season-high in steals (11) and tied a season-low (six) in turnovers committed, while tallying 19 assists.
