The price of global crude oil fell this week on the West Texas Intermediate (WTI) by $4.34 per barrel over last week currently at $100.08.
Brent crude oil fell $1.58, currently at $106.29.
One year ago WTI crude sold for $103.08 and Brent crude was at $107.47.
Motor Fuels
As of Tuesday, July 29th, the price of regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.39 across Iowa according to AAA. This is down $.03 from last week and down $.22 from one year ago. The national average on Tuesday was $3.51, down $.05 from last week’s price.
Retail diesel fuel prices in Iowa were down a penny on the Tuesday report with a statewide average of $3.70. One year ago diesel prices also averaged $3.79 in Iowa. The current Iowa diesel average is $.14 per gallon lower than the national average of $3.84.
Wholesale ethanol prices rose $.10 this week, closing at $2.19. The price of Mid-Grade Blend in Iowa (10% ethanol) closed at $3.37 per gallon, down $.02 from last week’s price and $0.15 lower than one year ago.
Heating Fuels
Natural Gas prices were down $.05 from last week’s report, ending the week at $3.75 / MMbtu.
