MASON CITY – Too broke to buy grub, but so flush with cash that a $2,000 get-out-of-jail-card is no problem?
A woman wanted for dealing methamphetamine was nabbed by cops at the soup line in Mason City.
According to police, 31-year-old Staci Jo Slater of Mason City was apprehended by Cerro Gordo deputies at the Community Kitchen, 606 North Monroe Avenue, at about 5:12 PM on February 27th on a warrant for delivering meth.
Slater was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail where she was briefly held on $20,000 cash/surety bond. She put up $2,000 and was released from jail. She awaits a March 14, 2014 court hearing.

Enough hypocrisy. There’s nothing about the legal status of drug that affects it’s chemistry. Drugs and drugs and we are a nation of drug users. The majority of Americans are on drugs at any given time. If it’s not pills it’s booze, cigs or high fructose corn syrup. Every one of us has some vice. So it’s time to stop hurting each other over theirs.

It must really get your goat that I support decriminalization of drugs yet I don’t use drugs; that messes with your simpleton mind doesn’t it LVS? LVS can only conceive of things in terms of absolute. It’s either Black or White with him. That worked for most of LVS’s 1950’s life (he completely skipped the 60’s) until the age of the internet put a wrench in his Chevy small block. But what LVS doesn’t know is there are powerful Hacker Groups out there who can even bring governments to their knees. If they wanted to rock LVS’s world, they could…but he’s so inconsequential he doesn’t matter to anyone but a few armchair Generals here in North Iowa. LVS, does it make you feel weird that almost 75% of normal people now support the legalization of medical marijuana? You know how I’m arriving at those figures? From the amount of people on a jury who raised their hands when the PROSECUTING ATTORNEY asked the question of whether it should be legal!
