Man runs from cops, is caught and arrested

MASON CITY – A Mason City man known for running from police was chased and apprehended Tuesday night after an incident on the North End.

According to police, on July 15th at 10:43 pm, a citizen called police to report a subject in the alley of the 500 block of North Washington who was creating a disturbance and appeared to be intoxicated. Police located the subject, identified as Jeff Hargis who then chose to run from police.

Police apprehended Hargis, who is 45 years old, and lives in Mason City with no permanent address. Hargis was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication and Interference with Official Acts and jailed.

Hargis posted $300.00 bond and was released.
