MASON CITY – Get revved up now for “Riding the Cure Out,” a motorcycle ride to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

The June 23 ride will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., beginning at Willow Run in Mason City. Participating taverns include Colony Inn in Ventura, Thirsty Dog in Manly, Donna’s Lounge in Meservey, Tanks in Rudd, Big Deal’s in Rockford, Sheffield Lanes in Sheffield, and LD’s Filling Station in Mason City.

The after-party will be at Spike’s in Mason City, with prizes and food.

“We’re going to have some great fun for a great cause,” said Lee Olson, chair of the JD Raiders fundraising team. The team is an affiliate of the North Iowa Chapter of JDRF, which raises more than $70,000 a year for research for a cure for juvenile diabetes.

The ride is also open to motorists who prefer cars.

First prize is $200 and second is a gift basket from Harley-Davidson of Mason City. Several other items will be given as prizes, and there will also be a live auction.

Registration for those who sign up by June 16 will cost $20 per person, $35 per couple. Forms are available at all participating taverns. Riders may also register from 9 to 10 a.m. June 23 at Willow Run.

The event will take place rain or shine. If weather is too wet, riders are encouraged to drive their cars.

For more information visit a participating tavern or business and then get ready for a great ride to raise money for a great cause.
