Gary Gene Howell, 87, of Mason City, IA, passed away on June 16, 2023. He moved to Mason City in 1965 where he raised his family and worked for Farm Credit until his retirement in 2004.

Frederick “Fred” King, 80, of Charles City, passed away Friday, June 23, 2023 at his home with his loving family by his side. Fred graduated from Charles City High School in 1962.

Glenn Edward Biggs, 89, of Rockford, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at Rockwell Community Nursing Home. On September 12, 1953, Glenn was united in marriage to Donna Schutz in Charles City. The couple lived in Mason City until making their home in Rockford in 1959.

Diana Webb, age 77 of Fenton, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at the Kossuth Regional Health Center.

Lori Jean Droste, 53, of Charles City, IA, passed away unexpectedly, June 16, 2023 at her home in Charles City. She graduated from Charles City High School and later earned her associates degree with NIACC.

Mary M. Heitland, 86, of Mason City, IA died on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa. She was a graduate of Mason City High School.

Charles Peter Bormann was born July 22, 1933, to Charles and Anna (Hartman) Bormann. He was raised on the farm near Whittemore, Iowa and attended country school, St. Michael’s Catholic School, and Presentation Academy.

Thomas Stufflebeam, Sr., 81, of Rockford, died Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his home in Rockford. He graduated from Rockford High School in 1959.

David Harold Tempus, 68, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18, 2023 in his Nora Springs, Iowa home.

Carolyn Marie Harrison, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at Mercy One Hospital in Mason City, Iowa. Carolyn was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Mason City and enjoyed many friendships there.

Patricia A. Monson, 83 of Clear Lake passed away peacefully Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Country Meadow Place surrounded by family. Patricia graduated from Mason City High School.

Neoma died Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Hancock County Health System in Britt. She was 89. She grew up in Belmond and graduated from Belmond High School in 1952.

Charles E McLaughlin 88 of Baton Rouge, LA. Formally of Hampton and Nashua went to be with the Lord June 15, 2022. He taught Vocational Agriculture in Nashua for 17 years.

Margaret Mitterer, 101, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Margaret (aka Grandma Sweetie) was loved by so many people because of her generous nature and warm heart.

Mary Ann Coady died Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Homestead Assisted Living in Algona at the age of 91. She had been a resident there since May of 2022.

Elola V. Kracht, a feisty 3 lb baby girl, was born on November 8, 1923, in Armstrong, Iowa to Paul and Nora (Hagenson) Wegner. She passed away on June 18, 2023 at Valley View Care Center in Armstrong at the age of 99.

Arthur “Art” Lines, 73, of Charles City, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Beverly E. Place, 94, of Osage, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2023, at the Good Shepherd Health Center in Mason City.

Bernard “Bernie” Allen Steinberg, 76, of Charles City, IA died on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City. He graduated from Charles City High School and then was drafted into the United States Army where he served in Vietnam from 1969-1971.

Alta Belle Hackbarth, 83, of Hampton, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.

At Karla’s request there will be no funeral. A celebration of Karla’s life will be held at the Manly, Iowa American Legion on Sunday, June 25 from 3-5 PM

Dennis E. Holmes, 83, died Friday, June 16, 2023, at Good Samaritan Society in Algona. In the fall of 1961, Dennis began his brilliant teaching career in Lu Verne, IA.

Carmen Iris Bultron Casas, 58, of Meservey, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at her home.

Fred Bartels, age 79, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at his home in Riceville. Fred attended country school until 8th grade and graduated from Riceville High School in 1962.

Jerry Collins, 81, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Harmony House in Waterloo. Jerry was born July 29, 1941, in Dumont.

Rosemary Ward, 90, a resident of Apple Valley Place in Clear Lake, IA, died Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the MercyOne Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City, IA. Rosemary was born February 16, 1933, at home in Clear Lake.

Sheldon Kay Benoy of Lakota, (formerly of Truman, MN) passed away June 13, 2023, at his home.

Susan Jane Dieterich, 78, died peacefully on June 15, 2023 at Stacyville Community Nursing Home. Susan Dieterich was born October 6, 1944, minutes before her twin sister to Glenn and Olga (Olson) Thoen in Northwood.

John Wesley Duryee of Little Cedar, passed away in his home on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the age of 55. John was born January 9, 1968 in Charles City, IA.

Thomas Edward Johanns, 56, of Burlington formerly of Riceville died, Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. Tom was born August 5, 1966, in Osage, Iowa.

Shirley Ruth Ostroot, age 89, of Osage, died Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage. She was the wife of an officer in the U.S. Army for twenty years.

Dean F. Johnson, 87, of Osage (Meroa), IA passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at his home. Dean served in the United States Air Force, from 1957 to 1960.

Colleen J. Findling, 88, of Mason City, died on June 15, 2023, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. Colleen graduated from Mason City High School.
