Jeanne L. Arp, 78, of Plymouth, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023. She cherished the time spent with her family.

Jeanne L. Arp, 78, of Plymouth, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023.

A funeral service will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City with Pastor Wendy Johannesen officiating. Burial will follow in the Bohemian Cemetery, Plymouth.

Jeanne’s family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to her service at the funeral home on Thursday.

The youngest of three children, Jeanne Lorene was born on April 9, 1945 to Ben and Lilian (Bednar) Navratil, of Plymouth. Growing up, Jeanne was a country girl through and through, she loved spending time outdoors on the family farm and playing the standup bass with her parents.

Jeanne was a loving mom and grandma. She cherished the time spent with her family.

For over 20 years Jeanne worked at David Manufacturing. She started as a machine operator in 1979 and her co workers came to know her as “The Bag Lady,” a title she wore proudly. She remained with the company until the plant’s closing.

Jeanne always had a creative personality and was known as an artist by family and friends. She enjoyed quilting and sewing, and proudly made a blanket for each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved spending time on her farm, tending to the vegetable gardens and enjoying the outdoors. Jeanne was a gifted painter and created many different pieces for her family to cherish for years to come.

Those grateful in sharing in her life include her children, Angie (Tony) Furbush, Rockwell, John (Michelle) Arp, Mason City; grandchildren, Joshua (Nicole), Tyler, McKenna, Cole, and Isabelle; great-grandchildren, Jaris, Braelynn, Brynnlee, and Tessa Jeanne; longtime companion, Al Brallier; siblings, LeRoy Navratil and Mary Baker; as well as extended family members and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
