MASON CITY – A Mason City man charged with a range of serious felony offenses in recent years – but nonetheless was walking the streets of the city – was arrested Thursday by police on an arrest warrant.
A warrant for the arrest of Detrick Antoun Keys, age 35, was issued Wednesday by Cerro Gordo County District Judge Gregg Rosenbladt after Keys allegedly violated the probation he received in August after pleading guilty to delivering crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s deputies picked up Keys at the 800 block of 15th Street SW Wednesday at about 4:20 PM. He was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail, where he is being held on $25,000 cash-only bond.
Keys still owes the entire $3,261.50 he was assessed by the courts in fees, costs and surcharges in the drug delivery case in which he plead guilty. A 10 year prison sentence and a $1,000 fine were suspended by Judge Rustin Davenport. Keys had been cited in March by Mason City police for possessing crack and meth with the intent to deliver. A warrant was issued on March 7th, and Keys was on the run for about a month until Clear Lake police nabbed him on April 5th. He remained in jail until August when he struck his plea deal. Along with a 5 year term of probation, Keys was assigned to the Beje Clark residential facility where he remained for an unknown amount of time.
Keys was found guilty in October of disorderly conduct / fighting or violent behavior and given a day in jail and $155.50 in court costs, which he did not yet pay.
Keys beat felony charges of burglary and sexual assault in Cerro Gordo county. He owes thousands of dollars to Iowa courts in addition to the $3,261.50 he owes for the drug dealing plea bargain.

well let me tell you where he spent alot of time going in and out of, 1514 n madison YES a hud home owned by rodriguez reality . oh yea, mcpd was & has been on alot of calls (15 or more)& two people arrested since august. anywhere between 25 to 75 cars a weekend at nite all hours , kinda like mcdonalds drive thru. but mcpd has yet to do anything to the tennents or landlord. any other city would have torn this house down.mcpd getting a cut of profits???????
When I lived in this sh@$hole a few years ago on the south part of town it was the same way obvious as could be but nothing done I had them coming up to my door 1 even got a shotgun barrel in his chest dirty cops new but did nothing about it but that was one of your mason city finest meth heads so its not just the thugs its more this town cuz its easy to run drugs here
