Good idea? Drones may deliver Amazon packages in near future

Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bizos revealed in a 60 Minutes segment this weekend that flying drones may soon be delivering Amazon.com packages to customers.

By using drones, Bezos says Amazon hopes to deliver products within 30 minutes.  “I know this looks like science fiction. It’s not,” Bizos said.

Amazon.com is one of the world’s largest online retailers, with several massive shipping depots located throughout the country. Bizos says Amazon would save huge shipping costs by employing the drones.

Others argue that the use of drones would throw thousands of working persons out of jobs, eventually.  Further complicating the endeavor, FAA regulations are a long ways off to allowing the use of delivery drones.

Can’t you just see it? A drone goes by and all the Obama supporters start running after it hoping to steal the package the second it hits the ground. LOL

Stupid is as stupid does -of course if the fat cats get rich off it (taxpayer money) lets have it and restore cash for clunkers or or obamercare at 17 trillion taxpayers dollars over the next ten years – better yet do away with insurance com[panies and send a government check directly to the doctor saving 40% that the insurance company charges us.

@bad Pontiac-here is something I will bet you have not heard. Obama, under the AFC act (Obamacare) is opening free gas stations in Detroit so the poor people can get gas to go to the doctor without having to pay for anything. He even has his picture on display at the stations and is once again buying votes with your tax money.

About the first time they drop a 5 pound package on someones head they will shut them down real fast.

might knock some sense into you

Ho Hum-More boring B.S. from DR Dumbsel. He use to be such a Happy Guy.

A really cool idea – even if it only captures 25% of deliveries (due to weight, access to delivery locations, FAA constraints, kids with BB guns, etc.) it should make quite an impact on all sorts of retailers.
This could be a real game changer.
BTW NIT – his name is Bezos, not Bizos.
