MASON CITY – The North Iowa Marine Corps. League held its annual picnic Saturday in East Park.
Brats and burgers were served, to go along with a table filled with side dishes.
The picnic was billed as a “great time of fellowship with members, friends and family.”
A former soldier told NIT that the group “has been in many parades around the area and are probably best known for their work with Toys for Tots.”

Great job Marine Corps. I wish I would have known about this. I was in the Corps long ago but still honor the tradition of being the best of the best. “SEMPER FI”
Hi,
My name is Sissy Schaefer. I see on the paper web that you didn’t know about the League. I want to personally invite you to come and visit us. Our meetings are the 1st Wed. of every month at Hy-Vee East at 1930 hours. Most of us go early to eat and socialize. As you heard on the interview we have the Marine Corps Birthday Ball coming up in November. Roger Hunt our commandant has scheduled a group out of Lake Mills that are a “USO” show. Again WE would be honored to have you join with us. If I can answer any questions or you have any thoughts please e-mail me @ daddysgal1963@yahoo.com
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Semper Fi!!
Sissy
