MASON CITY – Mason City police acted on a tip this week about a potentially dangerous individual, whom they arrested.
According to police, on Thursday evening, July 11th at about 6:25 PM, police received a call from a resident who reported a man that was acting erratic and strange and possibly under the influence of a substance. The caller reported that this man had been seen with a gun earlier and making threats. Police stated that at least one resident at 1220 10th Street NW was “scared.”
Police arrived on the scene and encountered a man in the back yard of the property. Officers approached the man and discovered he had a concealed, loaded handgun in his waistband. The man was detained without incident and the handgun secured.
It was learned by police that this man, Jason Daniel Roeding, age 33, of 1220 10th Street NW was a convicted felon currently on parole.
Roeding was charged with :
– Carrying a Dangerous Weapon;
– Possession of a Firearm by a Felon;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance;
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Roeding was arrested and taken to jail.
