MASON CITY – A Mason City woman who lied to police to avoid arrest was taken into custody last week.
According to police, on May 2, 2013, MCPD officers were at Hy-Vee East on an unrelated investigation at approx 10:00 pm. Officers observed Cayla Graupman, 23, and another female sitting nearby in a car. Officers knew Graupman had valid arrest warrants and walked over and spoke to both females. During this interaction, Graupman claimed to be somebody else to the uniformed officers. Officers knew this information to be false. Graupman was charged with Providing False Information to law enforcement. Drug paraphernalia was found in her purse and she was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Graupman was wanted on valid arrest warrants obtained by the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force in March, which included charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and possession of hydrocodone with intent to deliver.
Graupman is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail on multiple bond amounts at this time, the largest of which is $20,000.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
Take away the ability to prosecute this girl for drugs and what are the police left with? Nothing. Perhaps the middle finger she is flipping is against the breach of human and civil rights that occurs by hypocritical elites who stipulate what and what not they intend the public to consume. You probably never thought about it that way have you? No, you just know that POLICE are gods, and you are to do what your are told, and if you don’t? An automatic stigma is placed around your aura. This girl has an attitude. That’s fine. Many of you do to. You’re basing your disgust of her by the way NIT pairs up her Facebook “flip” with the charges against her, and the words “lied to police”. Now you are ready to watch her be hung.
That’s how propaganda works, and NIT is becoming quite masterful of it.
You say that you don’t smoke pot yet the way you talk, about legalizing everything, you sound like you use everything and sell it too. I think it was LVS that stated that he knows for sure that the police are monitoring this site, you would think that if that was true more people should be watching what they say. The police have many ways of finding someone on here even though they don’t use their real names.
Maybe, my dear boy. I have nothing to hide. I do not use illegal substances. After reading countless news stories about drug busts, and watching COPS episodes where drug arrests are made, I’ve come to the conclusion that Society should just legalize drugs, control their purity and manufacturing, and offer them in pharmacies for the public to purchase if they choose, while simultaneously promoting education and public awareness campaigns, and increasing drug treatment centers. By eliminating the punishment and prohibition factors, I believe drug use will no longer have an outlaw appeal nor mystique. Drug use may rise in the short term, but it will decline in the long term. Education, easy treatment options, public awareness campaigns and shunning, along with a decrease in “feeling like they are doing something taboo” will overall lead to decline in drug use. Billions of dollars will be saved, and penitentiaries can be used once again to house violent offenders and perpetrators of crimes that contain a victim.

Most of the bail amounts set are ridiculous! Choke someone within inches of their life? $300 please. Stab someone? $500 will set you free. Oh, you don’t have a job and can’t pay bail? Tell the judge and he will probably grant an ROR. Disgusted with this county!
