MASON CITY – Mason City High School Principal TJ Jumper will be taking an administrative post within the district starting next school year, he said today via email.

“It is with mixed emotions that I inform you that I will not be the high school principal next school year as I have accepted an administrative position within the Mason City Community School District for the 2013-14 school year,” Jumper stated.

Jumper’s new job -Executive Director of Educator Quality and Leadership- was created with the retirement of District administrators Dr. Kathy Schladwieler and Gary Van Hemert. “I will still be helping students, albeit in a different capacity, by continuing to improve the quality of education we offer in Mason City.

“I will miss working directly with the students, staff, and parents at JAMS/MCHS, as we have had many outstanding experiences together that I will forever cherish,” Jumper said.

According to the email, the school district will soon be looking for jumper’s replacement as MCHS Principal.

He’s the principal with poor writing skills. I hope he won’t be teaching English!

Mr. Jumper is very well deserving of any advancements. He is an amazing prinicpal. It’s too bad we don’t have more eduators like him. Good Luck Mr. Jumper, you will be missed at the high school.

TJ Jumped to a new pay grade. Hundreds of thousands of dollars per year out there in education. These guys ain’t dumb, they know how to get their money for nothing and the chicks for free.

Anyone know what this position will be and also what kind of $$$$ will he be gtting? Is it a new or is he replacing someone. I just wonder if it is new hopefully they are not counting on the yes vote to support this.
