Branstad and Reynolds release statements on Supreme Court ruling

Gov. Branstad:

“Today, the Supreme Court handed down a disastrous decision to uphold President Obama’s destructive health care law, which means a future of higher costs, higher taxes, and increasing debt for Iowans. The current health care system is nothing but a federal takeover and continues to exceed its budgeted amount every day. But, as Governor Romney has said many times, no matter what may happen in Court, the American people must remain vigilant in their fight to repeal the law. Our goal is for Iowa to become the healthiest state in the country and to do so Iowans will need to take ownership of their own health to reduce health care costs and lead healthier lives.”

Lt. Gov. Reynolds:

“America needs real health care reform and we need Governor Romney in Washington. Gov. Romney will enact real reforms to ensure that the future of Iowa and America as a whole can replace Obamacare with solutions that put Iowans in control of their own health care and preserve the economic future of Iowa’s next generation. “

This is just politics on Braindead’s part. The Supreme Court rules on the legality of any issue brought before them. They did what was legally correct. The Repubs can argue all they want but at least someone is trying to do something. And it is legal.

The real issue is the drug companies and the insurance companies. They have raped citizens for years.

The president is suppsoed to be a leader, so lead and act on these two. That will never happpen of course because of the money they throw at politicians to keep their game going.

I’ve said it many times; we need a leader that isn’t interested in selling books or enriching themselves by whoring out their respective political office.

Where is this person? Man or Women. Direly needed.

I will agree on drug and insurance companies and also add the hospitals. Have you seen some of these mosoliums(SP)? They could be museums. I thought that a lot of these facility’s were non-profit. It seems they are constantly remodeling or building new.

This is a tax increase that EVERYONE will end up paying – either directly, or indirectly because businesses faced with higher taxes will raise prices for goods and services and/or reduce their payrolls. And opposition to the ruling class will be galvanized by this ruling, and likely be more organized than ever. This may be like Pearl Harbor in that a sleeping giant has been awakened and will fight with a resolve that before now was unimagined.

Yeah….we’ve been there already since 2008!!!!

Guest, this court decision upheld ONLY Congresses right to impose a tax. You aren’t required to buy insurance, but you will face an additional tax if you don’t. For the Court to have ruled anything else would have turned our entire system on it’s head. Shame on the four justices who did not concur with the majority. John Roberts has redeemed himself in my eyes.

We will see……We did need healthcare reform and as far as I can see, Obama is the president who has tried to reform healthcare for not only the rich, but your average, hard working American.
