RURAL BREMER COUNTY – A Northern Iowa woman was cited after colliding with a school bus Thursday afternoon.
On October 1, 2020 at approx. 3:55 pm, Bremer county deputies responded to an accident at Highway 63 and 180th Street involving a Tripoli School bus and a Dodge Intrepid. The Dodge Intrepid, driven by Cindy Dralle, 62, of Fredericksburg was south bound on Hwy 63 when the school bus, driven by Paula Carlson, 44 of Tripoli crossed over the south bound lanes and was struck in the real wheel on the passenger side. All were evaluated at the scene for injuries. The students were transported back to the Tripoli high School for reunification with the parents. Paula Carlson was cited for failure to yield right of way.
The Bremer County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Tripoli Fire and EMS, Emergency Management, Tripoli Police Department and Del’s Repair & Wrecker Service.
$650.00 fine? Should be $1000.00 and 5 year license loss. I don’t know of anything that is worth a childs’ life.
Read the article. It was the bus driver who was charged.
The other woman should have been charged also considering that she wasn’t paying attention and hit the school bus…

people pay ATTENTION when you see a school bus. I have driven a school bus and you cant believe what I have seen in unattentive drivers. And the nmber of people that have run the red lights, don’t be one of them. fine $650.00 and lose your license not to speak of higher insurance rates for 2 yrs. So please pay attention!!!!
