MASON CITY – The City of Mason City recently applied for Bicycle Friendly Community status from the League of American Bicyclists, and a survey is available to help make the results turn out favorably.
To help the League of American Bicyclists gain a better understanding of local bicyclists’ experiences in Mason City, the City seeks help in providing input and feedback by taking a few moments to complete a brief survey before Sunday, March 22.
Award results will be announced in May.
Bicycles shouldn’t be allowed to be ridden on any road. They don’t pay road use tax like those of us with motor vehicles do. And some of them that wear the spandex clothing and them weirdo helmets give me the creeps.
So no bicyclists own cars or pay taxes?, road use taxes come out of the general fund for road maintenance, cars and trucks are the ones damaging the roads not a 18 pound bicycle and the LAW says we can ride on the rode, the freaks in the cars are the ones you have to worry about!
Just use a little common sense when riding in Mason City. Stay off of Monroe, 19th st., and the highways. You don’t need little bicycles painted on the street to tell you where to ride. A little bit of paint sure is not going to make it safer to ride.
Just makes them a target
