WASHINGTON – Iowa’s U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst met with U.S. Ambassador to China and former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad yesterday in Washington, D.C. The discussion included issues such as the relationship between the United States and China, security in East Asia and ongoing developments regarding North Korea.
One topic of concern was trade between the United States and China, and the impact tariffs will have on Iowa agriculture. Another focus of the meeting was production of the deadly drug fentanyl in China and its increasing consumption in America as the country faces a growing opioid, heroin and fentanyl epidemic.
“It’s always a pleasure to meet with my longtime friend and colleague Ambassador Branstad. He brings a steady hand and commonsense leadership to the complicated issues that face U.S. agriculture and so many other priorities,” Grassley said. “His efforts benefit Iowa and the nation and I look forward to continuing to work with him as we confront challenges in the East Asia region.”
“Ambassador Branstad has done a wonderful job representing our country in China, particularly as it relates to the agricultural and trade issues that so strongly affect Iowans,” Ernst said. “I was also pleased to get his input on the situation with North Korea, and the work our government is doing in the region to combat the production of the deadly and highly addictive drug fentanyl that devastates the lives of so many in the U.S. I thank Ambassador Branstad for his time to update Senator Grassley and me on his efforts, and look forward to continue working with him to ensure Iowans’ and Americans’ interests are protected.”

There are people who find fault with the world around. This is their reality inside their mind. Bitterness creates this and some wallow in it there whole life. Coping and struggle follows them around like a dark shadow. Then again they can just be having a bad day. With that said this picture represents people who have made a difference in many people’s life. Most often then not it’s for the betterment of all Iowans. These are very capable people who understand how are government works. This is their primary job in life. Chuck is a likable guy and his smile is straight up genuine. Terry is the right man from the west who can deal with China in a cordial manner. And Joni is in fact a shrewd politician who happens to be hot!
Chuck looks distinguished, Terry looks proud, and as always Joni looks hot. Gotta love those Iowans. Hippity hip hooray!
Chuck looks older than dirt, which he is, and should have retired a long time ago. He was once pretty good guy but in recent times he has just become another Republican political hack. Long past time to go out to pasture Chuck.
Terry Branstad looks like he is about to fall over and not very stable, both physically & mentally. Like Grassley, Branstad was once a pretty good guy, but he too has succumbed to sucking up to big money and again like Grassley has become nothing more than a Republican political hack.
And lastly Joni Ernst, she’s been nothing but a Republican political hack her entire political career. She is nothing more than a dancing little puppet for the Koch brothers, ALEC and anyone with money.
