I again offer an apology to those whom I have harmed in any way. It is my hope there is some positive that can come from this moment as we strive to be the better people we can be in the coming days. weeks. months, and years. I know that will be my task moving on from here. Thank you to everyone who stood with me in this campaign. especially the countless working families of the labor movement who joined me in this race and must now continue to fight for their way of life in this state. While I depart this campaign for governor with a heavy heart. I remain resolved to the greater cause creating a future Iowa we all can be proud to call our home.”

According to the Register, Boulton had made unwanted advances on women that made them uncomfortable.

Democratic candidate for Iowa Governor Cathy Glasson issued the following statement on Senator Nate Boulton’s decision to suspend his gubernatorial campaign:

GLASSON

“Senator Boulton did the right thing by ending his campaign for Governor today. The women who bravely came forward to share their experiences have my deepest respect and I stand with them. Now it’s time to return our focus to building a bold progressive Iowa that respects and protects the rights and dignity of all our people. I’ll keep leading the fight for single-payer universal health care, a $15 minimum wage fast, a union no matter where you work and tough new gun laws. I’d be truly honored to have the support of all Iowa Democrats who share those values.”

Danny Homan

AFSCME Council 61, which had endorsed Boulton previously, issued a statement via President Danny Homan:

“As a union that believes in the dignity of all work and all workers, we take allegations of sexual misconduct very seriously.

“Who to vote for has always been and remains each AFSCME member’s personal choice. After following the democratic processes of our organization, including meeting with our Executive Board and PEOPLE Committee, we support Senator Boulton’s decision to suspend his campaign for Governor.

More #metoo fallout. Face it politics is money and fame. Whoever wants into this way of life craves that social lifestyle filled with perks. Such as wardrobe updates, restaurant food, classy offices, social interaction, and big paychecks. It’s a ridged pecking order of people who are goal oriented and ego driven. The underbelly of which is as thick as thieves. And women want in. Just remember who invented the business model of capitalism from day one. The ‘Virtuous Lady’ that upheld our high moral standards of the past is gone. She was the cornerstone of our way of life. She was on all America’s old coinage. Now replaced with a muckraker. And doom will follow…lol

I find it interesting that the woman that is out there blousing about this is a staffer from the Cathy Glasson Campaign .

That’s right – a women can run for president even though she is a corrupt Anti American SKAAAAAG ! Pelosi or Clinton take your pick for pig .

Typical of Democrats. The party of criminals.

Too bad he was not running for president of the United States, you can commit all the lewd behavior with women you want and still get that job, Trump proved that to the world.!

You failed to mention Clinton.

Clinton is not president.

Pay attention, Bill was, and blazed the very same trail you judge Trump for.

Thank God!

Great post DONKEY!!

Great post….jackass.

Since Senator Boulton did the right thing by ending his campaign for Governor, he should step down from the Iowa Senate too.
