New 6-mile trail opens in Cerro Gordo county

RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A new 6-mile trail has opened in Cerro Gordo county, officials said Thursday.

Cerro Gordo County’s bicycle and pedestrian Prairie Land Trail from 240th to 190th is complete and open for use, the Cerro Gordo County Conservation Board said.

The contractor has completed installing the lime chip trail surface and bridge repairs and the trail is now open for bicycle and hiking use. The trail is 6 miles and begins on 240th in the southwest corner of Mason City and goes to 190th just south of Burchinal.
