Man makes public claim of sexual harassment by a doctor at Mercy Hospital (video interview)

MASON CITY – A man was spotted on a busy Mason City sidewalk Friday afternoon holding a large home made sign, making a bold claim of sexual harassment by a doctor at Mercy Hospital.

A man held a large white sign at the busiest time of day Friday, June 2, on Fourth Street SE near Pierce Avenue, adjacent to a Mercy Hospital parking lot.  Standing and pacing along Fourth Street as drivers rubber-necked to get a glimpse, the man held his sign defiantly; it made a claim of a sexual advance toward him by a doctor and of blackmail.

NIT arrived on the scene to spot the gentleman on the sidewalk, just as a Mercy security car rolled up, just feet away on actual Mercy property.  The two Mercy security guards sat nearby in a parked car, eyeing the man as his sign fluttered in the breeze.   Approaching the demonstrator, NIT was able to ask him some questions about his claims.  He says the alleged sexual advance was by a male doctor back on May 10.  After the advance was rebuffed, he claims Mercy “made up a story that I caused damage to a door … I have charges” he said (see video).

The demonstrator did not want to give his name, saying “I shouldn’t be talking about this.”  He says Mercy won’t let him back in for treatment.

NIT is checking with police about activity on or about May 10 that might match his version of events. NIT has now learned that on May 10, 47-year-old Brian Hahn was arrested on charges of felony second-degree criminal mischief and serious assault after an incident at Mercy Hospital.

He carried on, pacing the sidewalk.

So he can protest, but not talk… seems like shady reporting at best. Good job once again, reporting nothing of substance.

Just drove past this guy today, he is still out in front of the hospital with his sign

He was there yesterday too, along with a police escort.

Why do people assume someone s mentally ill if their exercising the right to protest.and peacefully at that. We don’t have to agree with what he’s doing nor do we even have to believe him but these r the rights we have living in this country which is what r country’s founded on in the first PLACE. Regardless whatever happened to him The TRUTH will prevail maybe not today so chill

Shut up Amanda

I would not put my dog in the Mercy Health Care System in Mason City, Iowa. Way more to this story but it will all get swept under the rug and this guy will get crapped on.

If there is more to this then I think it’s every citizens right to know. You can stay annomnous.

A Patients Right to Privacy is protected by Law.

Why call attention to this by publishing a story about a mans struggle with mental illness and publicly humiliating him even further. He may not have used good judgement but neither did NIT.

This man used the allow course left available to him. My heart goes out to him and has our family’s prayers. Mercy should don’t right thing and drop all charges on him.

Duh…What?

SAD, just sad….As this culture continues to go into the deep abyss.

No, I cannot say (my information) because unlike social media, (who never lets the facts get in the way of a good story), this gentleman is medically speaking, imbalanced and precariously harmful, to himself and others.
Accusations are the norm with or without proof and worst yet is there seems to be no penalties to the accuser when proven wrong. Unlike the scaring placed on the person falsely accused. SAD, just sad.

I agree this man is falsely accused of a crime he did not commit and if you believe he is mentally unstable then the police & courts should not be involved not a police matter at all then.

Back in the 90s, I had a friend being blackmailed by a local cop to do sexual favors,. The cop would threaten his children and him if he didn’t continue to sexually pleasure the officer every time he wanted. It got to the point that this friend feared for his life. It took a lot to get away from the officer. Needless to say, shit like this happens more than people think.

I have heard there was a sicko cop in MC about that long ago.

Let me guess, he was a patient in 5 East.

Mis-treatment?

My 7 year old knows that it’s mistreatment.

Have you watched the news lately? People will do and say anything. Looks like he’s looking for an excuse for his behavior.

Mercy would be wise to drop the charges and pay this man for his grief. I doubt like hell he would be outing the Doctor’s advances with his sign if it didn’t happen. You just can’t make shit like this up!

Just saying.

Dr Ramos??????
