MASON CITY – A young North Iowa couple tooling around Mason City’s North End was spotted by cops with a bad headlight, pulled over, and arrested for illegal drugs.
On May 29, just before 2 AM, Mason City police spotted a vehicle driven with an improper headlight. The vehicle was stopped at the 900 block of North Federal Avenue and after an investigation, illegal marijuana was allegedly discovered. Two people out of the vehicle were arrested. Samantha Mae Dokken, age 19 out of Kensett, was charged with first-offense possession of marijuana. Cody Joseph Schissel, age 19 out of Northwood, was charged with second-offense possession of marijuana.
Both persons were taken to the Cerro gordo county jail, booked and soon released after a public defender was appointed. Both are due in court on June 16.
Schissel is on probation in Worth county after he was caught with marijuana there back in November. He was given a deferred judgment, which means his record cold have been wiped clean – if he had stayed clean.
This is so easy. If you don’t want to get arrested, don’t break the law.
If you use marijuana, I would recommend leaving Iowa as soon as possible. There are many more nicer places to live, where you can legally purchase and possess small amounts of marijuana. In Iowa, these teenagers get criminal charges. Elsewhere, they’d get a ticket for the headlight and the cops would give their cannabis back to them.
So true, but some just can’t figure that out, twice…
Even in states where it is legal they would have still gotten a charge because they are under 21 years of age.
Its “lights out” for these bad hombres.
Two of north Iowa’s brightest, or should I say, half bright…
