KEOSUAQUA, IOWA – An Iowa mother allegedly allowed her young baby to starve to death, and now finds herself behind bars.
On Thursday, July 7, 2016, at approximately 3:28 AM, 23-year-old Angel Poole of Birmingham, Iowa called 911 stating her 67-day-old son, Judah Wessels was having difficulty breathing. Judah Wessels was transported to the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, Iowa, via ambulance and pronounced dead at approximately 4:40 AM. Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office (VBSO) launched an investigation and requested the assistance of the Iowa Department of Public Safety-Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
An autopsy was conducted by the Iowa of the Iowa Medical Examiner in Ankeny, Iowa. The autopsy revealed Judah Wessels was “markedly malnourished”. The cause of Wessels’ death has been ruled to be due to “starvation and dehydration.” The manner of death “undetermined” by the medical examiner.
After a joint investigation by the Iowa DCI, VBSO, Van Buren County Attorney’s Office and the Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office, officials secured an arrest warrant for Angel Poole for Child Endangerment Causing Death under Iowa Criminal Code 726.6(4).
On March 24, 2017, Angel Poole was arrested at her residence by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office. Poole was transported to the Van Buren County Jail where she currently remains awaiting her initial appearance. Bond has been set for $15,000.00.
She was the primary care giver they don’t live together jus to people making babies 20 yr age difference she is 23 he is 46 he could b her father so u see she not all there mentally
If she is with the father then why isn’t he charged also??
She was feeding her baby girl applesauce instead of formula that did not get in my comment and she also was sleeping with the baby on a couch and found her one morning in the corner smothered but they said it was SIDS
Her daughter didn’t just die of SIDS she was feeding her because she had no formula and why didn’t her daughter have the same mutation disease because it’s by the same father why because they say it’s past the boys easier funny but no one mentions they were doing CPR waiting for the ambulance from the bandaid station as you call it
They said her daughter died from SIDS but she was feeding the one month old apple sauce BC she had no formula how a one month old supposed to eat when all they know how to do is suckle n that baby died BC she was sleeping on a couch w her n smothered her n the corner of the couch n why if she has had 3 children and two by the same father testing they do on pragant females should have found something b4 the lil boy was born n even though they say its transfered to a boy easier n to blame a bandaid hospital she didn’t have to take him to Vbco Hospital she could a called Jefferson its closer than vbch shit u could have called both n see who got there the fastest so blaming a hospital is like blaming the person who gave her formula to feed her baby girl BC she was feedn her the Apple sauce jus a lil funny that u wanna ride w someone who has not very good common since I’m sure he didn’t jus all the sudden start having a breathing problem n why while wait n for the ambulance wasn’t cpr b n done on lil judah nobody mentioned they where do n CPR at all like the father said they sat and waited so no one was providing him w any type of oxygen while they waited hmmmmmmmmmm but blame a hospital common sence that’s all I can say wasn’t used either
Her daughter died because she was sleeping with it on a couch and smoother her n the corner of the couch but they called it as SIDS to cover it up and she had been feeding a 1 month old lil girl apple sauce BC she had no formula and didn’t try to get any someone else gave her a can and she wanted to blame it on the formula BC it was a lil out dated at least it wasn’t apple sauce how a baby supposed to swallow apple sauce when they don’t k anything but suckling and jus BC the lil boy had a genetic disease supposedly y didn’t her daughter that is alive have it they had the same father hmmmm 15,000 bail nonsense they k when a baby is not thriving properly n she choose to take him to VB CH she could a called Jefferson co jus as close so don’t blame a hospital this was a babies life n nobody chose to look deeper for some reason BC they test mothers for alotta things these days hmmmm jus kinda funny an autopsy had to come up w an issue so sick that a mother does know how to feed her first child properly n then she has another child die under her care a lil funny don’t u think but u ride w her n may god see the light that shines bright on a these babies that are not alive BC of her its not her first baby so this mutation disorder that she carries would have been found b4 if she is the carrier n transfers it to a child I’ll I can say is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Her daughter died of sids. So you all need to back the hell up. Her son had an issue and didnt survive and yet she has 1 healthy child. That poor was seen at the bandaid station in keosauqua that they call a hospital and was not able to figure out what was wrong with him.
Starve her to death. Mental problems obviously
Why did it take nearly nine months to arrest her? In the meantime, she could have had another baby.
This isn’t the only one she had a daughter that died as well
