The relationship blossomed while the alleged victim helped out in a classroom and took place November 2013 through July 2014 and authorities were told about it last fall.

Muehlenthaler was booked into the Story county jail last week and later bonded out. Iowa code shows that sexual exploitation by a school employee is a class D felony. He could face up to five years in prison.
