President Donald Trump fires Attorney General Sally Yates for “betrayal”

President Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Monday evening, the White House announced that Acting Attorney General Sally Yates had been replaced due to her “betrayal” of the Trump Administration and refusing to enforce an Executive Order on screening immigrants and travelers from certain countries seeking to enter the United States.

Statement from President Donald Trump on the Appointment of Dana Boente as Acting Attorney General:

The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States. This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel.

Yates

Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration.

It is time to get serious about protecting our country. Calling for tougher vetting for individuals travelling from seven dangerous places is not extreme.

It is reasonable and necessary to protect our country.

Tonight, President Trump relieved Ms. Yates of her duties and subsequently named Dana Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, to serve as Acting Attorney General until Senator Jeff Sessions is finally confirmed by the Senate, where he is being wrongly held up by Democrat senators for strictly political reasons.

Dana J. Boente

“I am honored to serve President Trump in this role until Senator Sessions is confirmed. I will defend and enforce the laws of our country to ensure that our people and our nation are protected,” said Dana Boente, Acting Attorney General.

In response, Democratic Leader and California Senator Nancy Pelosi released the following statement after it was announced that Acting Attorney General Sally Yates was fired by President Trump:

“Tonight, the Acting Attorney General was fired for upholding the Constitution of the United States. What the Trump Administration calls betrayal is an American with the courage to say that the law and the Constitution come first.

Nancy Pelosi

“President Trump’s executive order violates the Constitution, dishonors our values, and weakens the security of the United States. National security experts are warning that the President’s ban will make it harder, not easier to defeat terror.

“Earlier tonight, House Republicans blocked Democrats’ emergency bill to rescind this dangerous and unconstitutional executive order. Now, President Trump has fired the Acting Attorney General to get the answer he wants. Republicans will have to decide whether they will be complicit in the President’s reckless, wrathful and unconstitutional agenda.”

Don’t let Republican leadership fool you, and don’t let Democratic leaning Media Talking Heads project their expected outcomes onto those Republican leaders to make them look better than they are. The dirty truth is that Republicans would have no qualms or hesitations in denying translators who assisted US soldiers during the Iraq war into the United States, and they wouldn’t care if they faced execution and persecution in their home territories due to helping the United States. The Media has a way of inadvertently “covering” for Republicans by suggesting the alternative to assisting these refugees couldn’t possibly be an outcome allowed to stand by General Matiss, Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and others in their ilk. But the truth is, if no one was hounding them, they’d hang those Iraqis out to dry without losing a wink of sleep. Why? Because that’s just who they are. They are cold, self-serving, and don’t give a damn who they hurt in the pursuit of their self-attached glorious American lives. And that’s the Messy Truth.

Anyone that does not agree with Donald Trump is a traitor… can you say fascist dictator?

More algae clinging to the sides of the swamp bowl.

she pooped in her own oatmeal

You’re Fired! I didn’t want to grab your pussy anyway.

Insubordination, is what to put on her termination papers.

She was an Obummer appointee and is a liar as was most of the obummers group of Anti Americans. He also fired the head of ICE and now we will bring some sanity to our immigration crisis.

Statements like these establish the existance of the insanity about which you complain. We need younger people who value discussion and compromise to be elected to the House and the Senate. Our founding fathers knew what discussion and compromise could lead to — our always great United States of America.

Young people have no wisdom! I’ll pass.

Once again Trump did exactly as he should. Her job is to take orders from the president. If she couldn’t do that she should have resigned.

No, her job was to follow the law. She didn’t feel she was doing that enforcing his ban. Jeff Sessions, Trump’s new AG, told her some time ago that was her duty to American citizens-to not blindly obey the President.

Bull. It had already been vetted and approved. She was playing to the Demorat base and that was it.

Wrong.
Acting Attorney General Sally Yates had integrity, something that Donald Trump knows nothing about.
But Trump does have his clueless minions like you.

Trump should have relieved her of her duty on inauguration day as most presidents do. She had now business being there at this time anyway. Most opposing parties appointees are gone the first day when a new administration steps in. Trump missed this one and she should have already been gone.

And I’m sure you think Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch had integrity too.

Is that you Bodie?

She violated her oath for person politics and should have been jailed for it. That should surprise no one. It is what liberals do.

^^^ Idiot.

Key word there is “lawful” orders.

Think President Richard Nixon trying to get a special prosecutor (Archibald Cox) to do something illegal fired him for not doing it and ending up having his own Attorney General Elliot Richardson and Deputy Attorney General William Ruckelshaus resign in protest.

Funny how it is always these Republican Presidents that try to do illegal stuff.

The Attorney General is to be independent and not violate the law. The firing of an Attorney General and a Deputy was what eventually led to President Nixon’s resignation. Nixon order the AG and the deputy to fire the special prosecutor but they refused as the special prosecutor could only be fired for “good cause” not for displeasing the President. The solicitor general, Robert Bork (he who was rejected for the Supreme Court) eventually fired the special prosecutor but that did not help Nixon.

Please know they law before you make inane comments.
