MASON CITY – A young Mason City boy has been diagnosed with cancer, and his family is seeking help.
Elliot Burgos is the son of Shanda and Jonathon Burgos of Mason City. Elliott is just 7 years old. NIT is told his family just found out he has a cancerous brain tumor as well as cancer around his brain and down his spine. He is now undergoing treatment.
To help with medical expenses and hotel expenses, a GoFundMe page for the Burgos family has been established.

UPDATE…..All of our prayers are being answered. Doctor said surgery would be 5 to 6 hours long and it was only 1 hour. The smallest tumor he has ever seen and it was not attached to anything. Usually this tumor needs to be cut out and for some reason it was soft so he was able to suck the tumor out. We still have a very long road but this is amazing news for us so far.~Shanda (Elliot’s MOM)~
